Huatao majored in the production of shredder blades and crusher blades for more than 10 years, our blades are widely used in the plastic / metal / tyre / E-waste recycling industry.
Today we will introduce of the production processing of the shredder blades, and how the high quality shredder blade was born :
1-Selection of Raw Materials
Shredder blades generally use steel grades such as Cr12mov, H13, D2, and 55SICR. High-quality blades typically use Japanese SKD11 steel, which produces shredder blades that are not only wear-resistant but also less prone to chipping, resulting in good shredding performance. If the blades are used for shredding waste materials such as rubber, fibers, and paper, alloy tool steel such as 9CrSi or H13 is generally used. This type of steel produces shredder blades with very high hardness and good wear resistance, although they are relatively brittle. In short, the selection of raw materials depends on the type of shredder.
2-Blanking and Forging
According to the shredder blade drawings, the steel is cut to size, usually using a laser cutting machine for precise cutting and smooth edges, which facilitates subsequent processing. Then, the blanks are forged. During the forging process, the blanks are inspected for defects. Cracked or substandard blanks are removed and recycled; they should not be processed further.
3-Tempering
The forged blanks are tempered for initial heat treatment. The tempering temperature is generally low, and the purpose of tempering is mainly to transform the blanks into sorbite.
4-Preliminary Machining
The tempered shredder blade blanks undergo preliminary machining. The blanks are forged to remove surface impurities, and efforts are made to maintain the flatness of the blanks to avoid increasing the workload later. The preliminarily machined blanks are prepared for heat treatment.
5-Heat Treatment
The preliminarily machined shredder blade blanks undergo heat treatment. The main purpose is to improve the mechanical properties of the shredder blades. They are heated to a high temperature and then rapidly cooled to transform the steel material into martensite. During the heat treatment process, the deformation of the steel must be considered, and the deformation of the material must be controlled to ensure the quality of the blades.
6-Surface Grinding
The processed shredder blades undergo surface grinding. Surface grinding primarily removes surface impurities. A 0.3mm allowance should be left during surface grinding to reduce the workload of subsequent fine grinding. Surface grinding is performed on a grinding machine, and the surface must be polished before wire cutting.
7-Wire Cutting
During wire cutting, the wire feed speed should not be too fast, and it should be ensured that the cut is perpendicular to the surface. When wire cutting the inner hole, the dimensions provided in the drawing should be followed to avoid affecting subsequent use and equipment installation.
8-Fine Grinding
Fine grinding is the final process in the shredder blade manufacturing process. It mainly involves polishing and treating the shredder blades, followed by hardness testing. Only after passing the test can the blades be taken off the line and packaged.
The above is a detailed process and introduction to the shredder blade manufacturing process. Each process directly affects the quality and service life of the shredder blades. For any other information about shredder blades, please feel free to contact us.
